2025–26 season

A year in
Fortis Green Lodge

Four meetings, a year of charity work, new members initiated, and the kind of evenings that are hard to describe to people who haven't been there. This is what a Masonic year actually looks like.

September 2025

Bro. Gael Takes His First Step

At our September meeting, we had the honour of initiating Bro. Gael into the First Degree of Freemasonry. The lodge room was full, the ceremony was conducted with care, and afterwards the brethren gathered at the festive board to welcome him properly. These evenings are why we do this.

Christmas Dinner at Freemasons' Hall

December's meeting is always the one brethren look forward to most. After the lodge work, the festive board brings members and their guests together for an evening that goes on rather longer than intended. The raffle runs, toasts are given, and the room fills with the kind of noise that only happens when people are genuinely glad to be somewhere.

March 2026

Two Ceremonies in One Evening

Our March meeting was one for the record books. Twenty-two brethren and guests gathered at Freemasons' Hall as we conducted two ceremonies in a single evening: Bro. Gael was passed to the Second Degree, and Bro. Noel was welcomed as our newest initiate. Back-to-back ceremonies demand focus from everyone in the room, and the lodge delivered.

Passing the Chair

In May, Worshipful Brother Mat hands the chair to Bro. Simon at the Installation meeting. It is one of the most significant ceremonies in Freemasonry, and one of the most personal. A year in the chair goes quickly. What stays is the lodge you leave behind.

What holds it together

Every ceremony, every dinner, every donation. Built on the same foundation.

Four meetings a year. The same faces. Good food, honest conversation, and a shared commitment to something beyond yourself. Come and see what it looks like in practice.
